Faye is one of my clients who I am currently coaching and is also a friend. Last night we all went out and probably had a few too many drinks and have woken up with sore heads, I was even reminded of a jäger bomb boomerang from my other client Jacqueline.
Should Faye or Jacqueline be drinking? They’re on a diet! Should I be drinking with them? Am I not supposed to be a good example?
Let me tell you why Jacqueline & Faye should and can drink and why as their coach I tell them to have one, let their hair down and have fun.
Faye has attempted many diets. But they have all been unsuccessful! Did you know that two very large scale scientific studies have found that most people who go on a diet, end up heavier (not lighter) over 3 – 5 years.
My coaching IS NOT a diet, it’s not a meal plan, it’s not a training regime. It’s a lifestyle change. Working on everything from nutrition, activity levels, stress, thoughts, self belief and emotions.

In order to be successful you have to understand what healthy means - for the body and mind. And if you’re not enjoying what you’re doing, you won’t keep doing it. Once you have conquered the mind then you can conquer the body. And once you start to feel good, your look good shines through!
In 3 weeks Faye has not only lost 6lbs and 22.7 inches. But she has learnt about her body and how the luteal phase triggers her emotions and eating habits. She has learnt when is best for her to be in a calorie deficit and when she should look at just maintaining. She has learnt how to still eat pizza and chocolate alongside more wholesome foods. She knows how to still drink alcohol whilst tracking. She wants to be more active and enjoys the post work out buzz and is feeling positive and good about herself and what she is achieving.
I don’t want fast weight loss - I want Faye to lead a happy, positive and healthy life which enables her to loose excess fat and be fitter. But most important is that my clients are happy and enjoying the change so it sticks forever.
So yes they should be drinking and yes I should be drinking with them too! Raising a glass to how much their feel good is shining through!!! Proud coach x
